BioPharma company is looking for a collaborative Systems Administrator to join their dynamic team. In this fast-paced role you will be an integral part of organizing and executing on several continuous improvement projects.

This position offers a great opportunity for a seasoned IT professional to join a high-performing, cross-functional IT department at a rapidly growing, publicly traded life sciences company based in the Loop. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience supporting end users in a Microsoft centric environment. Experience with cybersecurity tools and methodologies is a big plus.


  • Provide front line support for all incidents, requests, and problems. Serve as primary escalation point prior to escalation to Technical Services team.
  • Procure and provision PCs and user accounts in our Microsoft Autopilot/Intune environment.
  • Lead on/off boarding activities and communication; working closely with human resources.
  • Develop knowledge base documentation for end users and IT team.
  • Assemble and conduct end user training.
  • Project management of small/medium technical and support workflow improvement projects.
  • Reconcile and manage technology assets (hardware and software licensing).
  • Support issues related to systems, phones, software, and hardware.
  • Assist with data compliance and governance.
  • Assist with identifying IT security gaps and maturing overall cybersecurity posture.
  • Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of progressive IT experience is required; life sciences/pharmaceutical industry big plus
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent field preferred
  • Advanced capabilities using Microsoft office products including Visio, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Leadership and mentoring skills toward fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Knowledge of modern workplace technologies, Windows system administration, enterprise backup and recovery, and system performance monitoring tools; agile project management techniques.
  • Previous experience supporting executives and C-Level Suite
  • Resourceful with ability to independently seek modern, best practice solutions
  • Experience with SOX compliance, enterprise desktop management, mobile device management, cybersecurity tools and incident response processes

  • Working Conditions

  • Position may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary to fulfill obligations. Periodic overnight travel.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, bending, and kneeling.
  • Must be able to lift and transport at least 25 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, color, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Computer use: Up to 90% of the time.
