Materials Technician

Akkodis is seeking a Materials Laboratory Technician for a contract to hire position with an aviation client located in Cincinnati, OH.

Pay/Salary Range:  $31.00/hour - $36.00/hour

Materials Technician job responsibilities include:

• Testing and evaluating metal materials

• Taking clear images with microscopes and sectioning off metallic parts

• Utilizing cut off saws, multiple microscopes, ImageJ, and Axiovision to evaluate samples

• Evaluating porosity, defect count, surface area, max edge defect, max clustering anomaly size, intergranular attack, dendritic cracking, alpha case, and took etched images for grain sizing

• Self-managing projects documentation of laboratory data

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent technical experience

• 2+ years of previous experience working with metals

• Coding background is a plus (Python, ImageJ, Axiovision)

• Strong MS Excel and documentation skills
