The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for the management and the execution of the company’s technology roadmap. This candidate will have experience working as a key individual in the development process. The Technical Project Manager will be expected to effectively manage resources, schedules, dependencies and risks throughout the project lifecycle. The Technical Project Manager will be expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously.  The Technical Project Manager will work closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Professional Services to ensure on-time quality delivery.

A successful candidate will be passionate about delivering great customer experiences, managing a strong risk and controls environment, have a strong understanding of the underlying technology, as well as trends in the insurance industry.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate clearly and consistently to all project stakeholders to ensure a common understanding of project timelines, deliverables and dependencies.
  • Maintain in-depth understanding of insurance industry technology trends, as well as Company’s strategic objectives and product roadmap.
  • Partner with product, engineering, and professional services teams to develop and execute on initiatives defined by insurance industry regulatory, business, or client requirements.
  • Provide timely and accurate sprint burndowns and resource plans.
  • Closely monitor change requests
  • Schedule and facilitate project meetings that foster productive resource usage
  • Deliver projects on time, on budget, and with high quality
  • Provide process improvement feedback to all areas of project delivery to drive client satisfaction and reduce project risk
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with project management in an agile/scrum environment
  • Proficiency in JIRA and Confluence
  • Minimum 2 years’ insurance industry experience, including experience with industry standard data and document formats strongly preferred
  • XML, XSD, JSON, JavaScript, CSS, ASP.Net C# experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with multi-tiered applications.
  • Database query experience using MS SQL Server & MySQL
  • Proven experience managing technical projects across multiple solution areas within an organization
  • Ability to understand business needs and ensure that project being delivered effectively meets business needs
  • Previous experience in strategic and tactical initiatives: Ability to identify problems and propose solutions
  • Success in delivering project level artifacts to support software development projects
  • Track record of delivering on time, on budget and with high quality
  • Detail oriented and proactive
  • Effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact with other insurance professionals.
