Title Technical Solutions Specialist IV
Position Description
As a Technical Lead for in building cellular solutions, you will partner closely with key stakeholders to help shape and implement operational process improvements and help determine future state technology strategies for in-building cellular solutions and how these technologies interact with other systems.
This person should have relevant experience with various in-building cellular solutions/ technologies and will provide insight and direction to project teams to ensure we have the right technology and processes to move into the hybrid work environment and ensure our buildings are prepared for technology changes and upgrades.
This person should also have a good working knowedge of cellular carrier operations and technologies in order to provide the best infromation possible to ensure we are making the right technology choices for the future.
Job responsibilities
Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to Google ensuring we are making the right technology decisions now and in the future at a tactical and strategic level for in-building cellular needs
Analyze and communicate future technology options and cost implications
Work directly with the Corp-Telephony Program Managers to develop short and long term strategies and roadmaps for our technologies
Develop maintenance schedules for legacy equipment and a robust intake and review process for future upgrades
Develop a monitoring process which the vendor teams can operationalize to ensure health and oversight of our infrastructure and systems
Act as the technical decision maker for all project requests, supporting the CT Program Managers in managing the intake and work queues effectively based on approved requirements
Review existing technology and advise on any technical gaps and issues to Program Managers and vendor teams
Must have direct working knowledge of major carrier technologies/ solutions and operations
Travel to other office locations as needed to support the work, up to 10% travel
Skill/Experience/Education
Mandatory
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or relevant and practical work experience with mobile operations and in building cellular solutions.
Robust knowledge of the technology surrounding cellular signal and in-building solutions for cellular signals
7 years of relevant experience in mobile technology related field covering:
Experience in future state technologies related to in-building cellular solutions
Experience with civil engineering projects relating to in building cellular enhancement and the construction variables related to the service
Experience working with mobile carriers’ operational project teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate deeply technical concepts for general audiences to understand Ability to work independently and in ambiguity
Desired
Advanced technical degree
Experience managing large scale in-building cellular projects within a fast paced corporate environment
Experience working with highly cross-functional and globally distributed teams
