An Automotive Warranty Test Engineer job in Grand Blanc, MI is available through Akkodis Engineering. You will assist in the processing, testing, and analysis of warranty and customer returns. You will be responsible for all warranty and customer returns including processing and analyzing, and work closely with the Quality department to resolve warranty concerns. You will assist the Quality department with weekly reports, 8-D support, etc. You must be able to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from both internal and external sources. This is a 12 month contract opportunity with possible extension or perm conversion. The salary for this position is between $40.00 and $50.00 per hour depending on education and experience.
Automotive Warranty Test Engineer job responsibilities include:
• Detailed record keeping for repairs and test data
• Provide bench level testing and support for warranty returned parts
• Design and execute test plans for new products
• Logging warranty parts
• Reviewing customer portal and replying in the customer portal
• Preparing, creating and writing test results
• Disassemble antennas and test the parts including circuit board
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as Test Engineer in automotive or electromechanical technology business. 8D experience a plus
• Basic understanding of mechanical design principles and quality standards/best practices
• Familiar with soldering, PCBs, SMT components, etc.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, schematics and PCBA layout drawings
• Ability to troubleshoot circuit boards down to component level - Find faulty components and solve the root cause. Ability to troubleshoot and identify soldering and coax cable problems
• Ability to analyze and understand various antenna failure modes, i.e., high current draw, low current draw, gain errors, VSWR errors, etc.
• Ability to troubleshoot various SMT components to find root cause of failure (i.e. Transistors, Resistors, Inductors, Capacitors)
• Team player working with other departments with excellent communication skills.
• Microsoft Office proficiency, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP a plus
• Ability to travel locally to support customer warranty activities required
• Ability to use electronic testing equipment at a high level (Digital Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Ophir Meter, Spectrum Analyzer, etc...), reverse engineer software/hardware components of equipment, and electronics theory a plus
