Technical Support Engineer (Learning Management System) Job in Rochester, NY:

Contract to Hire

Onsite role in Rochester, NY

Major Duties and Responsibilities of the Technical Support Engineer (Learning Management System) Job in Rochester, NY:

Serve as immediate contact for resolving technical support issues in regards to Learning Management Systems

  • Triage requests considering staffing and workload constraints
  • Identify areas of improvement in faculty processes and recommend effective alternatives
  • Create and maintain support documentation and materials
  • Provide training and professional development to Faculty Support Staff

  • Support new team members by providing them with position specific training and institutional knowledge
  • Distribute work requests to Faculty Support Team
  • Support faculty teaching and coursework requests

  • Maintain course pages in Learning Management System
  • Coordinate homework/assignment creation and submission
  • Create/Edit documents for coursework, presentations, and research papers
  • Coordinate required course materials
  • Enter grades into Student Information System and ensure appropriate distribution is maintained
  • Monitor shared site for faculty requests
  • Manage requests for room reservations, and IT support
  • Make administrative arrangements for course related guests
  • Coordinate requests for supplies and other work-related purchases
  • Collaborate with Teaching Assistants and Graders
  • Organize course-related special events
  • Prepare coursework and arrange for delivery to classrooms
  • Other duties or projects as required or needed by faculty
  • Qualifications of the Technical Support Engineer (Learning Management System) Job in Rochester, NY:

  • Minimum AAS Degree highly preferred.
  • Attention to detail, excellent organizational and problem solving skills, excellent communication and customer service skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel PowerPoint) skills are essential.
  • Must possess the ability to work in a team setting with all levels of management and staff, as well as a diverse population.
  • Ability to anticipate and adjust priorities based on the flow of the academic year and understanding of faculty timelines.
