A long term Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (W2) job in San Jose, CA currently available through Modis Engineering, formally Adecco group. This for an excellent, global renowned client. The pay rate for the role is $65/HR.

Who You’ll Work With

As a member of the Managed Services Accelerator (MSX) team you’ll work with other talented and passionate engineers to deliver a cloud-native, multi-tenant, virtual networking service creation and delivery platform that helps service providers quickly, easily, and cost-effectively develop and deliver managed services to their business customers.

What You’ll Do

You are a highly motivated engineer who is passionate about DevOps and creating automation that enables the availability, performance, security, and scalability of cloud-based microservices and infrastructure. This position requires solid hands-on programming, creative problem solving, troubleshooting skills, and a desire for continuous learning in addition to the following responsibilities:

  • As an experienced automation engineer, you will design, build and maintain a complete CICD solution for MSX with a focus on innovating how we build, test, and release our software
  • Work with closely with development teams to improve our ability to deliver high quality solutions to our customers as quickly and efficiently as possible
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership to improve our infrastructure and pipelines and develop a better CICD solution that is used by every MSX engineering team
  • Review and triage test failures, reproduce and troubleshoot issues, verify fixes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve build, deployment, and configuration related issues
  • Provision new development and test environments as needed
  • Contribute to the development of environment management, release management, test automation, monitoring, and reporting tools
  • Maintain a strong focus on continuous improvement and favor long term solutions and automation over short term gains
  • Research emerging CICD and automation tools, trends and methodologies and enhance existing systems and processes to use them
  • Adhere to and continuously improve guidelines, patterns, standards and best practices for continuous integration and delivery
  • Mentor junior members of the engineering team on the latest CICD technologies and best practices
  • Participate as a member of an agile team collaborating closely with operations and multiple distributed development teams
  • Qualifications

  • Build and release experience as an automation engineer
  • Proven track record of designing, building, and maintaining CICD solutions for complex highly distributed cloud-based solutions
  • Must have extensive experience with AWS or OpenStack and the delivery of cloud-native solutions
  • Hands-on experience building deployment pipelines and automated testing environments
  • Expertise with CICD platforms and build tools, Jenkins, Groovy, Maven, and Artifactory preferred
  • Expertise with orchestration and configuration management tools, Ansible preferred
  • Strong experience with Linux systems administration and networking
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Expert troubleshooting and analytical skills, self-directed problem solver
  • Proficiency in at least two of the following languages: Python, Groovy, Bash, Go, Java
  • Experience with Cassandra, Consul, Vault, Nginx, Kafka, Redis, Zookeeper, and ELK is highly desirable
  • Experience with Git and GitHub
  • Familiarity with standard security practices such as encryption, certificates and key management
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
