Additional work hours may apply during major outage events or business approved maintenance windows. This assignment will be 12 month from the start date. Potential for extension or conversion based on performance and budget. This role will be 100% onsite.

Provide network support to complex office/manufacturing LAN/WAN/VPN and wireless infrastructure.

  • Troubleshoot WAN and network routing protocol issues (BGP, OSPF and EIGRP).
  • Be part of Global Network Engineering team to incorporate company standards and preferred practices into local/regional site network builds.
  • Monitor network for proper operations and respond to network outages.
  • Implement changes to hardware and/or software that improve network performance, speed and connectivity.
  • Utilize network monitoring tools to ensure the network infrastructure is highly reliable.
  • Partner with the Security or Cyber Defense team to fix detected vulnerabilities with systems and users to maintain high security standard.
  • Interact with vendors, service providers, and business units for integration of services and systems.
  • Lead or participate in IT projects as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and service requests according to the Service Level Agreements.
  • Collaborate with other global IT functional teams as needed.
  • Return to site after office hours in the event of major incidents or maintenance activities support.
  • Good understanding of network design practices from small office to large campus.
  • Understanding of cloud services and efficient optimization on a global network.
  • Comprehension of networking concepts including network design principles, data flow determination, routing, switching, VLANs, IP addressing, spanning-tree, etc.
  • Solid understanding of network utility services including TFTP, FTP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, SMTP, SYSLOG, etc.
  • Familiarity with network scanning/analysis procedures and toolsets for network readiness assessments.
  • Understanding of advanced networking technologies and solutions including MPLS, BGP, EIGRP, HSRP, OSPF, multicast, policy-based routing, ether-channel, QoS, traffic-shaping, load balancing, VPNs, WAN Optimization, etc.
  • Understanding of advanced data center networking technologies and solutions including Nexus 7000 series data center switches, Arista switches, Nexus 9300s, ASR/ISR WAN routers, collocation facility integration, DR integration, etc.
  • Demonstrated performance in a large-scale enterprise technical work environment with minimum of 6 – 8 years of direct industry experience.
  • Experience working in an operations environment.
  • Palo Alto Firewall Experience a plus.
  • Network Security Experience a plus.
  • Wireless Experience a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or 6 - 8 years of equivalent experience.
  • Professional certification with Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or above.
