Modis is looking for a Human Resources Coordinator who will support a global healthcare manufacturer ONSITE in Scarborough, Maine!! This individual will assist to coordinate and/or administer various aspects of the organization’s compensation and benefit, recruitment, training, organization development, and employee relations programs. This role will be responsible for more than one of these areas and perform many of the same activities as professionals that specialize in these individual HR functions.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Applies subject matter knowledge; requires capacity to understand specific needs or requirements to apply skills/knowledge.
  • Responsible for supporting variety of programs and activities covering multiple HR activities. Data cleanup, job descriptions, organize efforts to update job descriptions, implement hiring process and development.
  • Need to know basics of HR compliance.
  • Focus on supporting the Business Human Resource leader on implementing processes.
  • Must interact with leaders at all levels of the business.
  • Oversees processing for new hires, liaising with payroll and the HR Operations team; ensures accuracy and timeliness
  • Answers frequently asked questions from employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
  • Observes federally mandated legal and corporate ethical practices for safeguarding teammates confidentiality; alerts senior-level HR when something is amiss.
  • Assists with timeclock system and works with payroll department.
  • Prepares new hire orientation and onboarding paperwork.
  • Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
  • Competencies:

  • General knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and projects.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a diverse population both orally and in writing.
  • Education:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of experience and education.
