Position: Assembler/Quality Control Inspector

1st shift - 5:30am - 1:30pm + OT

Modis Burbank is seeking an experienced Assembler/Quality Control Inspector in Sylmar, CA

Job Description:

Mostly assembly work and some backup work for the Quality Control Inspector.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment to assemble product
  • Record accurate production and traceability information as required
  • Complete equipment set-up/changeover configurations
  • Complete cycle counts
  • Follow work procedures/operating instructions
  • Participate in cross-training of processes as assigned
  • Inspect own work and inspect work of others to ensure the reduction of defects and enhanced product quality
  • No supervisory responsibilities
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to do basic math.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand the local language.
  • General Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
  • Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Employees are responsible for always wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner.
  • This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.
  • Must be able and willing to work varying schedules which may include nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Quality Control Inspector duties include:

  • Inspects (Outbound and/or in-process) aerospace/medical sub-assemblies and/or assemblies visually and dimensionally for conformance to manufacturing drawings, quality control specifications and supplier/customer requirements.
  • Responsible for review and acceptance of paperwork and documentation used in the acceptance of product.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical inspection on product and process
  • Prepare technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems
  • May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment and process
  • Experienced working in aerospace and medical industry with requirements (AS9100, ISO13485)
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools for precision measurement- micrometers, calipers, rulers, and gauges
  • Must be detail-oriented with excellent recordkeeping and report writing skills
  • Excellent visual acuity is a requirement of the job
  • Proficient in optical microscope, optical comparator, x-ray machine
  • Must be able to have a degree of independence and self-direction
