A 6-12 month  REMOTE GCP Cloud Engineer job in San Jose, CA is currently available through Modis Engineering, formally Adecco group. This for an excellent, global renowned client.

  • A Google Cloud Engineer will design, implement, and manage cloud-based systems for businesses. They develop and implement cloud-applications, migrate existing on-premise applications to the cloud, and debug cloud stacks.
  • Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.
  • Modifying and improving existing systems. Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives.
  • Designing, developing, and deploying modular cloud-based systems. Developing and maintaining cloud solutions in accordance with best practices. Ensuring efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security. Identifying, analyzing, and resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
  • Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvements. Interacting with clients, providing cloud support, and making recommendations based on client needs.
  • Cloud Engineer Requirements:

  • Degree in computer science or a similar field. Experience with CI/CD systems. Experience with SysOps. Azure, AWS, and GCP certifications preferred. Troubleshooting and analytical skills. Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • A good candidate for this role would be someone who is really keen on learning/working with Google cloud / Kubernetes.

    Someone who has a strong interest in very modern technologies and is looking to continually develop and expand their knowledge.

  • Must have experience Terraform or alternatives could be accepted are Chef / Puppet / Ansible
  • Must have experience with Google Cloud Platform
  • Kubernetes
  • Nice to Haves:

  • Quick learner, great communication skills, self-starter, takes initiative and does not wait to be told – has drive and accountability.
  • Responsibilities:

  • New project, daily activities have not been nailed down. However, they will be doing a mixture of the following.
  • Attending technical meetings to do project kick off and understand high level asks
  • Discovery work; integrations (single sign on, Google could platform, ect)
  • Attending meetings, system analysis, designing and planning, collaborations – infrastructure
  • Ability to read and write code, which is essential to the job (our infrastructure is managed in code.)
