Job Description
The Business Development Manager is responsible for growing profitable sales in the Battery/EV segment for Bosch Rexroth in the US and North America, primarily within Factory Automation. The Business Development Manager will also look to identify and communicate opportunities to grow sales for all other business units within our Corporation. In this role you will:
Identify target customers through market intelligence, research and knowledge of the market
Be the door opener, tenaciously pursuing targets to convert them from prospects to customers
Effectively convey our value proposition to the Battery and EV markets
Act as business driver (industry expert) for the Battery and EV industry for current and future profitable sales growth by identifying and executing our market growth strategy
Provide current and forecast market intelligence data for product rollouts, impacts of mergers and acquisitions, changes within management at customers, competitors and the like
Pursue new projects by working with sales on identifying new opportunities, presenting a targeted value proposition, including training of the regional sales organization and distributors on market needs
Within all Factory Automation business areas (Automation and Electrification, Assembly Technology and Linear Technology) promote our products, solutions and service and likewise for all other company business areas including Industrial, Mobile and Compact Hydraulics, Mobile Electronics and Large Hydraulic Drives.
Drive value proposition together with Marketing to promote our technology to the Battery/EV market through trade shows, industry presentations, speaking engagements, case studies and success stories.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business or related technical discipline
5+ years of experience in sales and/or sales management of automation products in the Battery, EV or Automotive industry
Detail-oriented, self-starter, self-motivated
Track record of sales success in new and emerging markets
Works well within a team environment, utilizing indirect authority to accomplish outcomes and meet customer demands
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, comfortable in front of a technical audience as well as in the C suite
Preferred:
Solid understanding of electromechanical principles and automation machinery operation
10+ years of factory automation sales experience
