Technology Talent Development Consultant (contract)

Key Responsibilities

The Technology Talent Development consultant is part of the Global Technology Talent Team in the Tech & Ops COO office. They will support the North America Talent Development lead in partnering with technology leadership, subject matter experts, and regional management to develop strategic L&D programs and to roll out training activities to teams around the globe, with a primary focus on North America – New York, Montreal, Baltimore locations.

They will assist with:

  • ­ Analyzing bottoms-up and top-down training demand to develop and execute on locally appropriate training programs with local SMEs and training working groups
  • ­ Organizing virtual onsite and offsite trainings
  • ­ Execution of various executive management learning and development initiatives, analyses and metrics reporting
  • ­ Evolution and execution of the refreshed key 2020 global programs (listed below)
  • • Partner with the Talent Development Operations Team and Global Communications Team for all training operations and communications activities (e.g. Training vendor communications, Cornerstone set up, Scheduling, Room bookings, Course surveys, Reporting; Marketing emails, SME Recognition emails, etc.)
  • • Collect and share best practices with the global team; support and initiate continuous process improvements
  • Key 2020 Programs – the below in coordination with Global Program Owners and with oversight by NA Regional Talent Development Lead

    • New Hire Orientation Program – ensure local practices are in line with global best practices; oversee/ conduct roll out of program for all new joiners for North America
    • Blended Learning – implement best practice Blended Learning protocols, in coordination with Blended Learning SMEs in North America, for lateral skilling and reskilling. Includes:

    ­ Identification and certification of local SMEs by topic

    ­ Development of annual Blended Learning calendar

    • SME Network - maintaining a strong local SME Network regionally, utilizing best practices and in coordination with the global SME Network Program
    • Fin Club, Tech Club – Implement global best practices for robust Fin Clubs and Tech Clubs in North America
    • Global Mobility Program – Implement the Global mobility program in North America. Assisting with content management, tracking, reporting and analytics
    Required Professional Skills
    • 3+ years L&D experience in preferably in the financial services industry, and/or in regard to technology
    • Strong project management skills
    • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
    • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
    • 2+ years’ experience managing with a remote manager (experience working independently, within global guidelines)
    • Comfortable speaking with technical experts about technical training topics (do not need to be an expert)
    • 2+ years’ experience facing off directly with senior management
    • Strong in Excel and PowerPoint skills
    • Strong metrics/data reporting and analysis skills
    • Capable and comfortable communicating in front of groups

    Preferred Skills
    • Understanding of financial services
    • 3+ years of experience assisting in developing training course materials
    • 2+ years’ experience working as part of a global team
    • Familiarity with typical technology functions
    • Awareness of existing and emerging technologies
    • Experience working with Jive
