Your role as an MBB LDMOS Principal RF Design Engineer

  • Develop RF power amplifier specifications for a high efficiency Doherty application designed to meet MBB customer 5G base station system requirements
  • Design and simulate novel power amplifier transistors based on a deep understanding of semiconductor device physics and RF system performance
  • Show the ability to solve complex technical problems develop innovative RF transistor concepts to make further steps in system performance for 5G applications
  • Keep abreast of technical developments in the relevant technology and industrial areas through study of literature and technical contacts
  • Write clear and concise design and product documentation and participate in peer design reviews of the global MBB R&D teams
  • Characterize new power amplifier prototypes with load pull systems, develop test specifications and coordinate with industrial engineers to enable the product release
  • Maintain regular interaction with the technology device modeling and DPD system teams to drive product-application improvements

Based at our client in Nijmegen, The Netherlands, you are going to be part of their Mobile Broadband (MBB) LDMOS RF Design and Application Team that develops high efficiency RF power amplifier transistors for high power Doherty applications in MBB 5G base station systems.

A multi-disciplinary, international team that is committed to being on top of the industry driving best-in-class technology improvements in 5G base station digital predistortion (DPD) linearity, signal bandwidths and high-power signal efficiency.

Your profile

  • MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering with specialization in RF & Microwave design
  • approx 10 years’ experience in RF design
  • Excellent skills in RF MMIC and/or discrete design flows including Doherty power amplifiers (e.g., GaN, LDMOS)
  • Good knowledge of RF equipment and measurement techniques (e.g., load pull, modulated signals)
  • Experience with electromagnetic simulators, Keysight ADS and MATLAB
  • Deep knowledge to efficiency enhancement techniques for RF Power amplifiers
  • 5G system architecture knowledge of base station applications
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment (system and architecture, design, test, package integration, project management and industrialization) and multi-site
  • Strong analytical skills for solving complex technical problems
  • Excellent team player and quick network builder
  • Good communication skills and fluent in English

MUST:

  • Experience RF Design; Doherty power amplifiers (e.g., GaN, LDMOS), telecommunication
  • Good knowledge of RF equipment and measurement techniques (e.g., load pull, modulated signals)
  • Experience with electromagnetic simulators, Keysight ADS and MATLAB
